Please contact them direct for serving times. Hot drinks, home-made cakes and ice creams will be on sale at the Village Hall.
We like to have Friends
Friends of Lowdham Book Festival costs £10 a year. Friends get reduced ticket prices to our programmes and are invited to two exclusive events a year. They also get a warm glow from supporting the Region’s biggest book festival, and its related spin off events, and an occasional newsletter! Simply send a cheque for £10 made payable to Lowdham Festivals Ltd to The Bookcase, with your name and address.
Access
The Village Hall has wheelchair access, wide doors and wheelchair accessible toilets. Please let the Box Office know you are coming with a wheelchair so we can make space. There are limited car parking spaces by the Village Hall for people with mobility problems. We would encourage early arrival as nearby car parking spaces fill up quickly at popular films. There is an induction loop in the Village Hall. Lowdham Library, the venue for the book groups, is wheelchair accessible with limited parking outside.
Travel information
Lowdham is off the A6097 and A612, about eight miles from Nottingham. There is a railway station ten minutes from the venue and regular buses (Nottingham City Transport 100, Veolia 62/62A) five minutes from the venue. There is car parking at the Village Hall and cars can also park on Main Street and Francklin Road opposite the Library. The Village Hall is set back from Main Street, opposite the Old Ship Inn.
Lowdham Book Festival 18-26 June 2010
We are currently planning our summer book festival, our eleventh. If you can only come on one day, the “last Saturday” – 26th June - has a very large bookfair, a café, and dozens of events showcasing local and regional writers – and all events on that day are free, including the children’s programme.
Thanks to the 6000+ who attended our big tenth anniversary festival last year!
This spring we will also have an “Eco” weekend, 16-18 April, watch out for details. If you would like to be on our mailing list send your name and address to Lowdham Book Festival, The Bookcase, 50 Main Street, Lowdham, Nottingham, NG14 7BE or email janestreeter@thebookcase.co.uk with “mailing list” in the header.
