David Belbin's new crime novel,
Bone and Cane, is set in
Nottingham during the General
Election of 1997, with one
character standing for
Parliament. Karen Campbell is
a former police officer whose
novels focus on the people behind the uniform. Her fourth
book, Proof of Life, is published
this week. Her previous novel
was shortlisted for the Crime
Writers Association Golden
Dagger. Danuta Reah, who
also writes as Carla Banks, is
very active in the CWA. Her
latest book is a novella, Not
Safe, set among refugees in Sheffield.
